Maureen has almost 20 years of experience working in Development/Donor Relations, both in higher education and academic medical/healthcare settings, during pre-campaign, campaign and post-campaign periods. Since 2014, she has been at MGH where she re-built and leads the donor relations/stewardship team responsible for gift agreements and acknowledgements, fund establishment, endowment fund reporting and custom gift/impact reporting, individualized stewardship plans, principal gift donor society and stewardship, namings and donor recognition. Mass General successfully completed its $1.5B campaign in December 2013, raising $1.72B, and is currently preparing for its next campaign. Prior to MGH, Maureen re-built and led donor relations/stewardship teams at Boston University and MIT, and held management positions at Emmanuel College in academic administration, development and alumni relations.
Maureen has significant experience in strategic planning, operations, stewardship communications, and relationship management. She is known for her expertise in identifying talent and putting together high functioning teams, for her skills in mentoring and advancing staff talent, and for her ability to implement donor relations programs that utilize creative approaches to stewarding, cultivating, and conveying to donors the impact of their philanthropy.
Maureen is a frequent presenter for ADRP, AFP, CASE Donor Relations, CASE District 1, and Women in Development, Boston. In 2013, she was keynote for the CASE Europe Stewardship Conference in London. Maureen earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Emmanuel College and a master of social work degree (clinical) from Simmons College.
